As with the first in this series, Sweet Oblivion (read my review HERE), this book was just as fantastic! I loved every moment of it and stayed glued to the pages until the end.
This story picked up a week after where it left of in the first book. I really enjoyed reading about Nari's journey through Lunil and how she slowly discovered the truth about herself. I loved the way that she handled all the tough situations and problems that were thrown her away, and learned from them. Namine's story was equally as great, and her determination to help save her kingdom was just really amazing. Even in the toughest situations, she continued to remain strong and unwavering in her determination to help good win over evil. It was fun reading their alternate point of views, and being able to see what was going on with each one of my favorite characters.
All the main characters in this book, Nari, Namine, Rydan, and Mych, they are honestly some of the best characters I have ever read about. I loved their unique personalities, and how every one of them seemed to have matured and grew in this book, compared to how they started out in the beginning of the first book. The relationship Nari and Mych shares is without doubt very passionate, intense, and just beautiful. As for Rydan and Namine, their relationship continues to grow at a much more slower pace, but it's equally as beautiful. However, my favorite was the relationship between Rydan and Nari. They are just so adorable together, and it's very obvious that they are best friends. I love the way that Rydan's always there for Nari and treats her like a younger sister, and how she treats him like a brother. Even though I love Nari and Mych, I have to say that I love Rydan & Nari's relationship just as much.
The overall main plot obviously isn't resolved in this book, since there are still more books in this series. However, the subplots were very nicely written and interesting. There were so many twists and turns in this book that it was almost impossible for me to put it down for even one moment!
There honestly isn't any words to describe how much I have fallen in love with this awesome series. This series and this book continues to be one of the best that I have ever read. I love the world of Lunil that Ms. Ardisone has created, but mostly I love the characters in this book.
I highly recommend reading this series. Plus, the first book, Sweet Oblivion, is free wherever ebooks are sold. If you haven't read it yet, you really should because this is one of the best paranormal fantasy series ever, and if you are a fan of this genre, then the Sweet Series is definitely a must read for you.
